Nope ^^^ just keep it a vert sports car. Keep it simple and don't go down the road MINI has gone. (Failure)
Why set your sights low with a new RX7 or RX8, unless you think the next gen twins (which more than likely won't even be twins anymore) are going to get a significant gain in hp/torq
I've owned 3 Miatas, and I was really looking forward to this event - which turned out to be the worst product unveiling I have ever seen. Where are the engine and chassis specs? What's the real projected weight? Where are the details on production? How about some better views of the car while Duran Duran Duran Duran droned on? I didn't get any more tonight than I got from the "accidental" release of the drawings last night.
Was thinking the same thing. That would be a strong base for a track car if Mazda does it right. I'm hoping the platform will be robust enough to get to 300HP relatively easily, unlike the earlier generations. It's never been an issue with the chassis, hopefully the engine and tranny will allow room to grow.
It was kind of an odd event--it wasn't really an unveiling more than a glorified sneak peak, and to Mazda's credit they never really said it was anything more than that--I know the auto journalists going in weren't expecting specs and such, they may not even be finished tidying all that up. We'll see what happens this weekend, but I doubt we'll get into the serious nitty gritty until the Chicago car show.
I'm right there with ya Dave! That is a mighty fine looking Miata for sure. I could cruise around in that a little on a nice day with the top down. Oh how I miss driving topless!!! Ill take one in a nice electric blue.
I love the new look. Now give it some power to go with it and no body will claim it's a click car anymore. Roamer is that they are looking at a coupe version. It would be lighter than the vert.
Nope.... The blue one looks like a clown shoe... The red one doesn't... The blue one looks like it's nose meets "Pedestrian Safety" standards.... The red one doesn't look like it but does....
I like it, and would really like a coupe version probably. I would shoot the shooting brake version right where it sits. Never will understand why anyone would want that BMW thing above, much less a Miata version.. If you need more room buy something else!! Like a MINI haha!!! Just hope by the time it reaches us in 1.5 years or so it doesn't gain weight once they move the steering wheel to the other side for us U.S. folks.. ( Think MINI Coupe, lost the back seat but gained 58 pounds )
The looks of the BMW M3 Coupe / hatch are very deceiving. Eric the owner Helix has (2) of them and they are bad ass little cars.
