The M7 wing I had was nothing more than APR Performance off the shelf parts mated a custom plate that mates to the OEM mounting position. Might want to see what parts APR has available.

APR actually believes in quality control... I have never had much of a problem with any of their stuff.

Thats where these are from. (They are ridiculous expensive now!)

also I'm a sad man! I was excited this morning to strip down the Midlands box sent from CA. yeap I have a sad life! anyway armed with just a lowes home mechanic tool kit, drift and 32mm socket.
I had the box stripped down in 35mins! The owner said it was a howling like a wolf! the input shaft bearing was missing 5 ball bearings! plus the C plates were worn allowing the shafts to bounce around. The good thing is the syncho's look good and the casing is perfect. They'll off to CR in Feb as this trip the bags are full ot nail polish, rings and girls stuff to sell. No Tranny jokes Modfather!

This visit has been a little frustrating with missing clips and parts but patience has paid off! Mini Costa Rica have been superb working with the body shop to supply all they need to finish the final installation of the trim and glass. Hopefully I will be driving away the Mini tomorrow (Tuesday) Thanks again for everyone’s help.

Looking very good Chris. I like your co-driver. Now to do the shakedown & figure out that light & loose rear end.

Thanks for reading, it has been a long journey which is about to start again.

Yesterday I got to drive the Mini home finding now I have a Mini crab! I went to the shop after work to get the alignment sorted. Yes it was way off! driving home seemed better but I noticed metal rattling down near my feet so maybe the suspension or buh is broken as this was the corner that took the first impact. Because of that I decided not to drive the Mini until I've done a full check over. Also other minor stuff needs to be done due to my super picky standards..LOL

One BIG problem is the VIN number is missing from the windscreen window because they fitted a new screen. Is the VIN number in that area a sticker or stamped on the chassis? I ask because this is the only proof on the VIN on the Mini. The VIN number on the strut tower was rusted away and removed when I fitted the STI strut tops. Without the windscreen VIN number I can't do the annual tech test or rally.

Is the "window" for the VIN visible? Could it be that they just didn't seat the windshield in the correct spot and that little viewing portal isn't lined up correctly?

good point! I have some photos of the screen out and it looks like (when zoomed in) the VIN number is there stamped to the body. Alos this is a generic screen with a heater element so maybe the viewing window is off a wee bit.

The screen tag got removed and painted over but fitting another is impossible as they filled the area with windscreen glue. Good news is the VIN is on a label on the drivers door B pillar so I think that will be good enough.

Another problem is the license plate is on a sticker on the old windscreen which of course does not come off so i have to go get another from the CR DMV which for me a is a pain in the hatch! So hopefully I'll get that done when I return. I've decided to check and fix everything before I hit the road again. Maybe 2 months work to fix add the decals, roof wing and buy everything.

Interesting is stuff from Emini parts is way cheaper than used and off Ebay! I need the rear wheel arch/side marker molding as the originals are chewed up looking bad against the Dave O quality paint job!

Also I have to clean the gearbox casing while I'm in snowy MA to take down there next month.
