Latest news is one of my sponsors will cough up for the Reiger rear dampers which should be finished by June. I will have to cover the fronts. I'm going to get the STI inserts modified to gravel spec by Feal suspension.

If the final drive does not show up before I leave for the next visit to CR I will start the next project: moving the spare wheel forward to the rear seat area. I'm sure with the weight of the wheel and battery does not help the rear dampers.

Things happen for a reason. The Mo Joe's decals if removed would remove the paint requiring a full paint which the Mini just got. Mo Joe's just folded so we hunt yet again for another backer. Ho hum

I'm working on it. Got a few ideas but so far nothing confirmed but the way things are going I won't have the parts to catch the only 2 events I can do. The final drive is delayed yet again. So everthing is going to happen next month fingers crossed

I didn't get the test drive so that will wait until I return, Also bumped into the R+D VP who is a musle car dude. He as just bought a 2015 Camaro R/T . Actually looking our MA car park reveals a Polaris slingshot, some wicked tuned Audi's and BMW's MCS and a few STI's

Good news is the Reiger suspension is ready to ship, Gripper shipped the final drive and the STI strut gravel inserts will be done next week.....June is going to be busy!

oh forgot a funny story. The last visit I brought in the gear set and some used gears. I thought the customs would give me a hard tiime but in my carry on bag was a bath bomb from Lush. Shaped like an apple. So I put my bags through the scanner and the customs giy says I have fruit, I say no, because I forgot about the bath bomb. so after some searching they found the bath bomb and completely forgot about the gear set! LOL. So this visit I did the same thing and they completely missed the 50 bottles of lotions I had in the checked bag to sell...hahahahaha Now I'm buying more bath bombs for each visit.

I friend of mine who raced a car with some demon tweaks that were contrary to the rule book always had one thing that stood out & grabbed the attention of the scrutineers. They'd birtch about that, he'd hang is head & say OK I'll fix it. Then go racing with the other boat load of illegal tweaks.

Depending on the sanctioning body, scrutineers may only be required/allowed to check for safety related items.
It is up to the competitors to self-police for cheaters.
Guess as long as winning a trophy is more important than their reputation, cheaters will continue.

If there is racing there will be cheaters.:yesnod: Back when I raced the scrutineers did look for legality items. They'd make a note in the logbook & it would have to be changed before the car hit the track for the next race. It was up to other competitors to protest, most didn't because they were not squeaky clean either.

About 15 years ago I had a trip to Mexico. I was in to working out at the time. In my bag was a baggy of creatine (a white power). So we land at around 5 or 6 am. We had to wake the customs guy. half asleep he opened my bag first. There on top was the baggy. I thought he was going to have a hart attack.

Since we are on that subject...

Leaving Kuwait after my last deployment, I may of had a lot of little stuff in my duffel bag that we "weren't" allowed to bring home... And Customs stopped my bag, ran it through the machine again, and asked if I had something I wasn't allowed to have in there.

I just looked at the Navy guy who was working the Customs counter, and told him "it was mostly just my gear, and a few personal items"... He then said it looked like I had some type of sword in the bag.

Thats when I started wondering WTF was in there...

So I dumped my bag on the table, and amongst the pile of gear and stuff I knew I couldn't bring home was my hammer!

He went straight for it, and asked what it was. So I told him it was a hammer!

Soon all the Customs agents where around the table like I was trying to bring home some sort of IED! None of them payed any attention to all the other stuff, just my hammer...

    Sometimes you get lucky! :)

True Story: About three years back, one of the Mazda series national winners was disqualified for an illegal weld. It gave absolutely no performance advantage, but the second place car called him out on it after going over his car looking for anything. There are rules, and then there is the spirit of the rules....I hope dude who wound up with the trophy dropped it on his foot. Such douchebaggery...

The Struts were sitting in the shop as the dude did not read my email to know who sent them! Anyway I called them and they have them finished ready to ship. To re-valve the inserts to gravel spec cost $227.85 with the shipping which is a bargain. The Struts cost $60 each shipped off Ebay. so for around $350 I have the front sorted. Decals should be here today.
