Calloway claims that they can do the whole thing out of exotic materials for around $15k. If I was in the market of a Vet that is one option I would check. I do like the way it looks. Just might add it to the bottom of my car wish list.
Callaway WILL build it. They're still saying it will be around $15K (plus another $1.5K to paint it to match). The Chevrolet Corvette Wagon is Heading to Production! (autoguide.com)
A shooting brake is always at the top of my list. The thing that I can't get over with the new vette is the Batmobile rear lights. I gave myself some time, like I do with all new cars, but I just don't like 'em. How about a C6 rear on a C7. In other OT news, and speaking of car designs growing on me, I'm starting to love the new Mustang. It helps that I drove a 5-liter version a bit hoonishly and giggled my a$$ off.
I'm with you the Vette has had quad round or round-ish tail likes since the late C1 models. It was a signature of the car. For the C7 they took the tail lights from the Camaro.
To me the whole C7 looks very Batmobile. The tail lights don't bother me,but much other stuff about the design does. The shooting brake is the best version of the C7 to date.
