You can bet we will some changes to the cars when they show up at China. The cars are ever evolving. Alonso seemed to be doing OK in his Honda powered car. I wonder what let go to make him a DNF, I don't think it was engine related. I'm worried it's going to be a boring season if the cars can't pass on track.
They got rid of the token system this year, so engine development is wide open. I'm not sure how that works when you only get 4 power units per car for the season, but I'm sure that there's going to be some huge development for someone sooner rather than later. Re: Danny Ric's crash in qually - They were saying on Sky that it was likely caused by the shark fin. Going straight, it keeps you straight. Going around a corner at a reasonable angle, and it tries to push you back straight a bit, and can help you through the corner faster. Too MUCH angle though and it interrupts the airflow over half the rear wing, causing a complete and sudden loss of rear grip, so if you wiggle out just enough, you're in for the ride.
It's an Italian thing. They did that to Galileo too. Which is how his middle finger came to fall off, and is now on display. http://www.atlasobscura.com/places/galileos-middle-finger
I'm in the middle of taking the new F1 fan survey and finding it very difficult to answer this one. "Which races do you consider are essential for the Formula One calendar? (Max 5 responses allowed)" It's the "Max 5 responses allowed" that gets me stuck. They offer 28 options (by country, not venue) and I'm having a lot more trouble than I thought I would choosing my essential top 5.

Sauber have confirmed that Ferrari test driver Antonio Giovinazzi will again partner Marcus Ericsson at the team for this weekend’s 2017 Formula 1 Heineken Chinese Grand Prix, as Pascal Wehrlein continues to work on regaining his fitness.
Here's a change. If you missed the race you can watch it online. I can't watch this stream because I don't pay for anything that puts money in NBC's pocket, but I don't think they were doing this before Liberty bought F1...or did I just miss this sort of thing happening already last year? http://stream.nbcsports.com/f1/chinese-grand-prix-watch-live
I don't remember if it was last year or 2015 when I tried to watch a missed race, but they used to only have a highlight, or two, that was a few minutes long.
One can find viewable races on /r/MotorsportsReplays. Usually the commercial free UK version in like SuperDuperHyperDefTM. Add in lots of SuperDuperHyperSloMoTM. Toss in a little commentary by some Brits and it makes for nice relaxed viewing.
Well, it was business as usual at the front, the leader drove away and the rest tried to catch him...... But it was fun to watch the rest of the field, Max made some good passes and Vettel is definitely back on form!
The damp track made it interesting in the beginning and there were some good passes made in the field but the leader showed his dominance and his ability to control the race when needed.
I think if it wouldn't have been for the safety car shortly after the VSC, it would have been a closer battle between 1 and 2. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
