Steep learning curve? Yep, but if Kurt Bush can step into one and finish 6th, me thinks Alonso can do very well indeed. Montoya thinks he will do just fine too! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
In the Thursday Drivers Press Conference Alonso was asked when he thinks he will be able to race in Le Mans. His Reply: "Ummm..I don't know.......it's between Canada and Buka, no... (laughter). We see how many flights, connections there are...(more laughter)"
Gee, Bernie, I wonder what blood-sucking parasite made them so high? Ecclestone calls for lower fees for F1 race promoters (motorsport.com) Full story here: https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/ecclestone-calls-for-lower-fees-for-f1-race-promoters-893764/ Me thinks this has something to do with the fact he is apparently thinking about buying Interlagos...
Counterpoint to Franchitti's view on Alonso's chances: Mario Andretti on why Alonso will shine at Indy
I was expecting Zak Brown to orchestrate a replacement for Alonso that was nearly as crazy as letting Alonso skip Monaco. I was wrong. I'm sure Button would like a chance to drive a 2017 car, even if it is a McHonda. I saw a stat yesterday that said if he does Monaco he'll tie Michael Shumacher at #2 on the recod list of race starts behind Rubens Barichello. McLaren F1 confirms Button as Alonso’s Monaco GP replacement (motorsports.nbcsports.com) Full article here: http://motorsports.nbcsports.com/2017/04/14/mclaren-f1-confirms-button-as-alonsos-monaco-gp-replacement/

Technically that wasn't a race lap, so it would be minus zero something lap.... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Those of you that don't have or don't want to see all the US based commercials I've been watching this season on Sky. You can find live streams at https://www.reddit.com/r/motorsportsstreams/ You'll need the ACE stream player too.
Can it get any worse for McHonda, Stoofel will not even be able to start the race because of engine failure.... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
That's a real concern. No matter how much experience a driver has, starting P1 for the first time in an F1 race is a new experience. No one in front to follow and try to pass, you're only trying to start well and defend. It has to be a completely different type of focus. On top of that it's a standing start! The slightest mistake can mean multiple positions lost. Cool cucumber Finn? Maybe, but that's real pressure. Very curious to see how he handles it.
