Going off my tire reference I'll start a brake pad version.

I had Stop Tech ceramics and while clean they lacked initial bit. I change to Akebano ceramics and they are great. I've had Hawks in the past and they are better than the Stop tech but not as good as the Akebanos.

    Ceramics:
    Akebano x2
    Autozone ceramics

    Semi Metallics - daily drivers:
    CoolCarbon
    EBC Greenstuff
    EBC Redstuff x2
    Hawk
    Hawk HPS x2
    R4-1 Porterfield

    Track pads:
    Wilwood B

    Rotors:
    SP Performance
    Zimmerman
    StopTech
    Power Slot

EBC Greenstuff pads and StopTech slotted rotors suit me fine for my MINI.

I've remained a Hawk user for several years, pinching a set of Zimmerman rotors.

Autozone ceramics, inexpensive, feel great , no black dust - free replacements for life (they don't say whose life tho)

I don't need track pads anymore, but I think these would have done fine, and if I wore them out running the track - free replacements!

I don't understand you peeps running race pads on the street, where do you live that you can drive aggressively enough to get them up to temp, and how do you keep your lic driving like that? :eek6:

    For street:

    CoolCarbon

Much better bite before they warm up than HPS, but a bit more dust,
and a bit more noise at low speeds (just before stopping).
Not as much dust as OEM.
    Very good warmed up, too.

    For track:

well, I don't track or autox, so have to leave this blank.

I like R4-1 Porterfield pads. They have the initial bite of a racing pad and work at low temperatures.

Was very happy with Akeebonoo's....nearly dust free.
One suggestion is, USE THEM HARD on occasion.....went a few weeks driving very gently once, and they felt like they had to be broken in again.....
Ended up putting stop-tecs on the back (needed them fast, and they were pretty cheap)...made the REARS more dirty than the fronts
