So a couple of years ago I bought a Winter Set of Wheels for the R53 from TireRack with TPMS Sensors for the R53, my question is do I need to swap those sensors to work with the R56? Or can I just run the sensors for the R53 without the TPMS Light on?

    R53's do not have TPMS.

What size wheels? 15 inch will not clear the front brakes on your R56. Dave is right no TPMS sensors on an R53. Put a piece of tape over the light & call it good.

    What size rims?
17's I hope... the gen2 stock S brakes are the same as gen1 JCW bbk kit....so 15' rims (possible on a stock r53) are not really possible, and only a very select group of 16's fit....
I ran gen2 rims on my gen1....15 inch...sold the gen2 tpms (there are 2 versions, get the right ones, based on production date, heck the first few months of gen2 had the same system for toms as gen1) and installed regular dumb valves....as was noted, no tpms on a r53....it's all done with wheel speed/abs sensors.
Depending on the year the time were for, you might need to open up the holes on the rims a bit....they usually for with the bigger gen 2 bolts, but not always (the last few months of production for gen1 cars used the thicker lug bolts).

Sport Edition 16" wheels from Tire Rack.

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=runWheelSearch&wheelMake=Sport+Edition&wheelModel=F7&wheelFinish=Silver+Painted&autoMake=MINI&autoModel=Cooper+S&autoYear=2004&autoModClar= these are the wheels that I have. They have 195/55/R16 Blizzak WS80 tires. The R56 has 17" with 205/45/R17 Continental ContiProContact SSR tires. If the R53 doesn't have TPMS it has some kind of tire pressure monitor right? I had a tire pressure monitor button underneath the parking brake handle and the monitor light in the speedo. I'm go to the MINI dealer near me to get the TPMS for the R56 installed on the winter wheels in November, when I get the winter tires installed on the R56.

The R53 uses a passive system. The ABS wheel speed sensors double as TPMS sensors. Another nice feature of the R53 is no separate sensors needed for the wheels.

I would suggest you test fit a winter rim on the front of your r56....ensure you have clearance...some 16 rims worked with the bigger calipers of the r56/r53 jcw bbk, many did not....not actually more often did.

The brakes on the R56 are stock MCS brakes, so I have a feeling the wheels will fit but I will still test fit them just in case. Thanks for the help guys!!
