While test driving Fiona last weekend, I noticed a crazy amount of wheel chatter and body roll coming from the rear, especially when tight cornering. Seems as if, in my frenzy to get the rear suspension Hi-Los set up, I neglected to purchase a new set of rebound dampers (shocks). Derp. Seven sells a fairly inexpensive set of Boge units (Shock Absorber, Boge, Standard, Rear (GSA71116) - Classic Mini), but has anyone ever purchased a set like these at a local store like Autozone? I'm trying to find specs on the Boge units but am not having any luck, and the top mount looks non-standard. Thanks in advance as always!
I've never seen anything that might work on a Classic in a local parts store. I've got a pair of the Spax adjustable's on the front of my car. The Boge's are known to be a very nice street dampener and they are reasonably priced. I'd call and talk to Mike or Jack at Seven and go with their recommendation.
Yeah I'll do that when they open, but I was hoping there was an option that wouldn't involve mail-ordering from California... Thanks!
If you need them fa$t they can overnight them to you. Call Jason Pigg & ask him, if there are any local he surely will know.
Paul Strieby, in Kettering, OH, might be able to help, too, as he does Classic work. He has a house/shop on Mini Court.
