Nescafé Dolce Gusto and BMW MINI are teaming up to produce a new limited edition coffee machine that will sell in retail outlets and select MINI dealerships and retail outlets. The new Nescafé Dolce Gusto MINI machine reflects core elements of the car brand, including its compact design and distinct winged logo. It delivers up to 15 bars of pressure to create frothy cremas, which enhance the aroma of the coffee, and allows consumers to choose from seven levels of cup size. The first markets to launch the global partnership are Indonesia, Japan, France and Switzerland, with several others expected over the course of 2015. Nescafé Dolce Gusto will also sell a branded accessory in the form of a Nescafé Dolce Gusto MINI thermo travel coffee mug on its website.
Still though, I've never had any luck getting a decent cup'a Joe out'a those prepackaged coffee machines. No Sale.
You know they guy that invented the Kurig coffee thing wishes he never made it. Why, because the little plastic cups are causing so much trash and having a bad affect on the environment versus a old school paper filter.
Have you tried a nespresso macine? They aren't drip, they are pressurized. They also do espresso. I'm not a Kuerig fan, but I love my Dolce...they aren't as popular here, but they're huge in Europe.
But but but they want to sell you new cups after every cup. It's the modern day corporate crack dealer on the block.
Yeah, there was a time when everyone wanted one. That belongs in the "you're older than dirt if you remember" thread.
We went back to a regular coffee maker after our Kuerig. No foofie French press either... My daughter has one and its the stupidest thing I've ever tried to use. Those things suck!
Here in the heart of Hipsterville I have 3 Third Wave type Coffee Shops within a 2 block walk and 6 within 4 blocks. Am a regular at one of them. The choices are insane. So many ways of various pour-overs, presses and other chemistry lab looking devices. I'm happy with a nice mug of the house brew at my favorite place. Get their cold brew by the growler for home use. Thier trendy annoying website Mission Coffee Co. LLC
That looks like a cool place to get caffeinated! Isn't it great to see three guys hang'n in there against the bigger shops.....
When I was still working as a teacher, a friend of mine talked me into doing some after hours translating locally for a company that makes aircraft propellers for Beech, Cesna and Bandeirante. He spent a lot of time in Europe and one day, came home with a small honest-to-God European 2-cup PROFESSIONAL expresso maker, complete with the tamper and strainers. He gave it to me if I wanted to add a 220v outlet for it. If you REALLY desire expresso as my wife and I do, this is the way to do it. The machine is old and was probably used at one time in a bar. It has a kickass pressure chamber and gauges, as well as a steam tube to heat up milk. It is solid stainless steel and weighs in at around 30#...not made for moving it around much, but it does a great job.
I'm on my third bean-to-cup machine over maybe 20 years - if you going to have an addiction, do it properly....
