07 S convertible storage

So I got my car cover , my battery charger, nice dry garage to put it in , do I have to worry about gases coming from the battery & blowing up neighbors garage . And yes I'm in northern Ohio and don't need to drive it to ski slopes all winter, so I will put it away. 07 Mini S convertible . So as I was putting it away was looking and there is a vent tube coming out of battery and out so I won't worry about it blowing up.

Went to get 07 MCS out of garage from winter , DEAD after I went and got a BMW charger that plugged into cigarette lighter from dealer . Put battery charger on it for 24 hrs it started first time. Took it for a drive all seamed to work OK . Went down tonight to set clock OK , but have no radio & it is showing EML does this mead I have to go to dealer to have it reset ?

Does the car start? Can you read the charge on the battery? Sounds like it might be low.

"EML" is an acronym for "Elektronische Motorleistungsregelung". Loosely translated from the original German it means Electrionic Engine Power Control.

Chances are that the voltage is low. Check that it is 12V or more at the battery. If not either charge it more to see if comes up or replace. Being an 07 I'd opt to replace the battery.
