I have a '06 Convertible. I've only owned it about a year but I've had several issues with it. Replaced the transmission 6 months ago due to the synchronizers going out. The Service engine soon light came on earlier this week. I replaced the spark plugs. Apparently, they had never been changed. I am waiting on the wires to arrive to finish that job. Checked the error codes and it read po136. After reading up online, it looks to be the O2 censor. Can anyone tell me which sensor it might be and possibly a diagram to show me what the sensor looks like? I am not that mechanically inclined and pictures help me best. Thanks!
Welcome to M/A MINI extended the warranty on O2 sensors to 100,000 miles. If you are under that mileage give your dealer a call. My 2006 had it's O2 sensor die at 105,000, no joy from MINI for me.
Check out the link below from Real OEM as it will show both O2 sensors. As for Coil and Wires I would advise to only to use OEM. RealOEM.com * BMW R53 Cooper S Exhaust manifold with catalyst They look like this: You can order them from Outmotoring: http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-cooper/MINI_cooper_oxygen_sensor_o2_sensor.html
Don't buy aftermarket sensors, you will end up replacing them again with oem. Ask me how I know thi$. :nonod:
