From what I can tell this is related to fuel. Everything I see says fuel level sensor. I've seen where several things have been done about this relating to the fuel and hasn't removed the code, and also see where someone changed their oil and it disappears. I changed my oil 2500 ago and getting close to doing that again here soon. Other thoughts are that this may have to do with the HPFP but I don't want to bring it and have to pay to get it tested for warranty unless that is indeed what it is. Any thoughts, suggestions? Any and all are welcome.
Oops my bad. 2008 S hardtop. And yes I checked it and it says fuel level sensor but as I stated I've seen where some have changed it and that didn't fix the code. Haven't seen any evidence to support that it will clear the code even though that's what it says it is.
it may be the hpfp, high pressure fuel pump. I found this in another forum. The guy had the same code as you,: turns out the high pressure fuel pump was starting to fail. Apparently issues with it have been sufficient that MINI has raised the warranty period on the fuel pump to 100k miles.
I've still got 12k miles before it runs out if that is the case. Only problem is if its not that I have to pay the service fee for testing it.
I'm getting the P2065 code also on the Torque app on my phone. I'm not sure what it means, did you find any resolution?
In the library there is a ECU chart. It lists P2065 as "P2065 - Fuel Level Sensor 'B' Circuit". Not sure what it means. The ECU chart is here for 2nd Gens. http://www.motoringalliance.com/library/all-about-mini-coopers-17/ecu-codes-chart---2nd-generation-mini-102/
I actually ended up changing out the plugs and coils. Fixed it right up. I had a misfire along with the code.
Thanks for posting your fix and results. I compression tested my engine this evening and had app. 160 lbs in all cylinders. I replaced the spark plugs when finished. I have 89K miles on the car. I'll post my results after testing.
