When the HPFP is having failure problems or is dead, what are the symptoms that the driver might face? Or in other words what will the driver experience in order to be certain of it the HPFP's failure?

Your car will start to run like crap because it's not getting enough fuel. Low boost and may not able to get above 3-4 k on your tach.

Im already experiencing low boost but its happening only above 3000revs and its not a consistent issue. Some days it happens and others its not. Is that something that happens with the HPFP, failure coming and going?

Do you have a ScanGauge II? It reads fuel pressure in near real time (approximate 1 second delay). You can watch the pressure change based on demand....

Clogged or near clogged fuel filters can restrict fuel flow going to the HPFP..... There are two of them.... There may be enough fuel flowing up to a certain point and then starvation sets in....

Torn diaphragm on the turbo BOV? Boost leak?

    No codes being thrown????

    As noted above....
This will tell you if you are achieving high fuel pressure (assuming your fuel filters are in good working order)....

    OR

The dealer can run a fuel pressure test checking "System Pressure" and "Residual Pressure" by connecting a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel line....
