I am able to get my hands on a few BRAND NEW OEM GP wings. Just thought I would throw a feeler out and see if anyone else is interested in getting one?

Here are some examples(not like you guys didn't already know what these are)

I would be interested depending on price and installation difficulty. Do you also have the GP glass to go with it, or do you have another way to mount it with the stock glass?

Could be depending on the price.

I can get the glass, it adds about 275 to the total. I have been reading that you do not need the glass! I am willing to be the guinea pig and see if you actually need the glass...

They are going to set you back a little over 2k. I am not up-charging you for the parts. I am simply trying to help some fellow members out with a rare hard to get part!

    ^lol, thanks Dave!

The rear glass has recesses cut into it to allow the wing to fit properly, unless you have ways of cutting class cleanly and proficiently you might put yourself out a rear glass in the process.

Depending on the severity of the situation (temporarily closed due to medical problems) at Orranje you may want to wait awhile and contact them. You'll get the same look for over half the cost and it works with the factory rear glass.

For looks, the orranje wing is good. For function, you want the GP wing. The orranje wing flexes big time. The newer ones may be better. You're best off replacing the glass if you go with the GP.

I've been looking for an Orranje wing or a Fubrication Wing, but both seem just as unobtainable as a factory GP wing right now. I was hoping this might be some kind of closeout deal and well under $2K, like around $1K, or less.

I was talking with an Orranje wing owner at MINI Thunder and he said the original wing was flexi, but has been reworked, and is now stiffer. He said Orranje just sent him the new version of the blade without him asking for it. If true, that is GREAT customer service.

Orranje has always been good with me too. I had the earlier wing also and Rich sent me the updated version as well.

Did they charge for the stiffer wing? I might have to look into that.

Is it only on the R56 that you don't have to change the glass out on then?

I don't think the R53 GP wing will fit an R56 but I could be wrong.

I don't know about the R56 GP wing on an R56, never seen it done. The R56 GP wing sits lower on the R56 than the R53 GP wing sits on the R53; they did more sophisticated wind tunnel resting on the R56 and found the wing functions better slightly lower.

I wil pass but thanks for the offer. The cost versus the function kills it for me. It's more bling for the R53 than it's worth in my opinion. I would rather spend the 2k on power mods.

I wasn't asking if the R56 GP wing would fit on an R53. I saw a thread that showed and R56 GP wing being installed on stock R56 glass. I was just wondering if the same would be true for an R53 is all.

I am going to order one and find out either way. I can get the glass no problem, why spend the money on it if it is not needed.

So if anyone knows if it is possible like the R56, let us know!

Yes they did. I've seen also they were working on a carbon fiber version but have not heard lately.

I ordered my setup yesterday. It is about a month out coming from Germany. I ordered the back glass just to be safe. I will post up my findings when this gem arrives at the shop! Stay tuned! (Or check out our facebook page!)

Hey, if you end up replacing your rear glass, try not to break the old one... I know a guy with some slight welding spatter pits in his... ;)

I've got a big stockpile of random OE parts, and a good amount of aftermarket junk that doesn't work, but mo glass. :(

There was a ton of car parts under my bed until I got the shed in CR.

I took down to CR a M7 top aluminium wing and side plates to make something like this wing. I think there is just enough clearance between the side and rear glass. Next visits project.
