How will i choose an air filter... 1. that will produce the loudest possible sound of my bov? 2. that will provide the optimum performance?

Thanx but im not really looking for a list of things. I want specific things to know from regarding the air filter... which of all will produce the loudest bov sound and also how will i judge that the specific air filter will provide optimum performance!
Filtering dirt and crap is the function of an air filter, not to make sounds for you to get all giddy about. If you want sound just remove your air filter and replace it with a screen. This is the kind of silly question you should be putting up on the NAM not here.
And they were the original reusable filter...often had an "oil bath" to keep them clean and sticky... Paper filters replaced them due to lower cost and easier cleaning/replacement. Just get a DRY FOAM filter and be done.

well there are others that don't believe so and it is strange that there are so different opinions.. they can't both be right! Tell me more about this (brands) and why prefer a wet or dry foam filter?
