How can i clean the throttle? Not only with what but also how will i manage it? Do i need to unmount it? How will the valve open etc.
Do you not have a manual for this car? If not, you really do need to get one. http://www.amazon.com/MINI-Cooper-R55-Service-Manual/dp/0837617308
The Service manual is/should be your best friend. Having never worked on a mini I was able to replace the head without any assistance. Definitely buy one!
I have the feeling that the Bently manual cannot really help me with the issue im having! Or am i wrong?
Yup...my thoughts exactly. You need more help than an auto repair how-to book!!:biggrin5: On a more serious note... You appear VERY interested in much of how your car works and tinkering.... So reading the book would give you insight into how stuff works.
Many of his questions asked in many other threads here and even on other forums would have been properly explained in the Bentley Manual, he doesn't really consider some or most of our recommendations (ignores them) which is why he has worn out his welcome on NAM. Now I see it happening here, the posts are slowing. It's difficult to help someone who doesn't seriously consider our recommendations, a Bentley Manual would have answered all his question here and at bottom quoted from another thread. He will continue to make multiple threads on simple basic things like cleaning the throttle body or how to remove the air box, which is covered in the Bentley Manual, at some point member's will quickly tire of this and quit replying to his threads as it did on NAM. I'm really enjoy helping people but only if they want to help themselves at the same time. Sure helping a member is encouraged but only to a point, the person asking for help needs to pick up the slack to learn a little for himself instead of relying on everyone else. Most member's before creating a thread do a little research before starting a new thread, this is encouraged because the thread starter comes into his or her thread with some information and some understanding of his or her questions. This not only helps the thread creator but also gives the OP some better responses to important questions. I have been respectful in this post and I'm absolutely not attacking genik, I'm attempting to help him so he might get better help and responses from forum member's. If that's not the outcome this post gets then I have gladly spent my time trying to help genik get more out of his threads. Best regards, Systemlord. Replacing the Throttle Body?
^^^ Well, that being the case then, I'd suggest he clean it with soap and water. If he ever finds it, that is...
Genik just blast it off like we do here in the States. We just fill our air boxes with very fine sand and let the intake pull the air and sand in the Intake, Throttle body and everything behind it. It really works great. Just make sure you remove your air filter so it does ruined during the deep cleaning process. If you add a little bit ( 1 oz.) of dish soap like Dawn to 10 oz. of water and feed it in you can see bubbles and you will know when its working. When the bubbles and sand stops your car should be perfect quiet.
There is no reason for him to buy a Bentley manual.... We are flipping the pages for him.. What he doesn't understand is that the Bentley will school him on everything about his MINI... The Bentley goes into so much more detail on procedures.... He's really running the risk of Borking his car... The MINI doesn't have the problem.... The problem is with the owner....
My favorite question of his was this one, I did all this without the Bentley Manual, maybe it's because I put on the big boy pants on so very long ago. I wonder if he can do anything on his own, oh and I'm not talking about the MCS.
Just an update... The op thanked us over on the other site....the op is going to get some real local help.. A couple of us had suggested the op get professional help. Think he realized that cleaning it without resetting the adaptations, etc could have made his issues harder to track down. In the end, the bit of humor and good advise in both threads helped a fellow MINI driver.
Of course not, he is over at NAM again with the same questions. I bet real money he hasn't done anything since he began creating threads because if your advice will cost him money he's not interested period. He wants to do it himself and at the same time knows he lacks the know-how to do it, there is a struggle within him and he is split and unable to make a decision. That's why the new threads continue on many other forums, it's like he doesn't know that he lacks the skill to accomplish the job himself. Member's keep telling him to get professional help with his Mini and he doesn't even listen then. You can't help somebody that doesn't take advice or suggestions. He is probably on other forums starting up the same old threads again, this will continue until our Sun runs out of fuel. He has been chasing his tale all this time and will continue to do so until...
