1st Gen R53 Cooper S SC oil change .....what else should be done at the same time

    My car has 100000kms
    Looking to do some major services and have the front end apart

    What other things should I change along with SC oil change ?

    Please give me a full list
    I expect to spend thousands of dollars on this !!

    Well if you're there and haven't done it recently I'd do a water pump and T-stat and check your vacuum lines and fittings, then maybe a belt and tensioner

    Dave has a good list....I might add a few items, and point out...
    That is a pretty "young" and low mile car....many wait till later a few more before they do a major rebuild/overhaul in that area....so condition will rule.
    Crank position sensor o-ring comes to mind, as does possibilityan oil pan gasket IF it is leaking.
    Guess it depends how the car is used, and how it's been kept.... A good helper or mechanic can point out what to leave, and what to change...
    Hate to toss good parts in the trash "just because" .....

    Control arm bushings. Use Powerflex bushings, they will last the life on the car.

    Plugs, coil and wires
    How are the brake pads and discs?
    While it's apart, flush all the fluids.

    Yes drop the whole sub frame. Undo the PS reservoir from the bracket and it along with the rack and frame can be lowered and pulled out from nunder the car. This makes it very easy to change the bushings and clean it up. If you need PS hoses this is a good time to change them or put better clamps on them so they don't leak.
