1st Gen R53 Cooper S Nw Oil Leak

    greetings all
    my 2008 MCS has a new oil leak.
    the source appears to be a black plastic box
    directly above the rear-lower engine mount.
    i can find no reference of similar leak anywhere.
    it's not the chain tentioner, i have verified that.
    can anyone have any knowledge of similar leaks?

    Can't see exactly but it looks like the oil pump solenoid harness is leaking,

    That is the vacuum accumulator. If it is leaking oil you have a bad vacuum pump. The 08 didn't have oil volume control solenoids

    Also check front main seal

    That's not a leak, that's just MINI anti-rust protection process at work. :lol: Good luck
