I have the chance to test a R53 JCW ECU, key, BC1, EWS etc on my R50. The ECU part numbers are different but would this set up work?

Not sure, but my guess would be no. As the sensors would be different and it would be set up for a boosted engine. Why not just see if you can get the JCW R50 software?

I want to test is my ECU is bad. There is a guy in CR who is breaking a R53 JCW who willing to loan me the ECU set to test. He said it would work but like you I would think the mapping etc would be different.

I can tell you now it does work the problems you will have fuel economy 10 to 15mph very sluggish off the mark up 3000revs then absolutely flys right up to red line useless up hills have to change down and fan stays on it came with car I bought just changed back to r50 car now drives as it should 30mpg but down by 15 to 20% power
