On any other car, if you put the wrong key in the ignition, nothing would happen. Well, not on a MINI. I put the key to my hatch in the slot on the CM by mistake. It went right in, the warning gong sounded and a yellow light came on in the rev counter, of a key with a slash through it.

It is only fair that you treat the hatch to the same thrills now.

I do this to the CM often, I carry both keys most of the time, makes for heavy pockets.

Yes, if you have comfort, the CM will start with the Hatch key in the slot, but it does whine a bit with the no-key symbol. :)

Have fun, drive one at a time.
