Ok, Daughter came home from college today, Yeah!!. Car is covered in pollen and sap, oh and it is black. Any pointers on how to get this stuff off the car? Any special products needed?
Depending on how much sap you have on the car a very hot wet towel will loosen the sap if you let it sit for a little while. First I would wash the car with Dawn really well to strip everything off to see what you are dealing with.
This is the best thing I have found by far, one of these pads on a D/A and a little quick detail spray for lube and you can do the whole car in about 20 minutes, glass and all.
My pickup truck was badly coated with sap and pollen, the pressure washer didn't affect the crud. I used Griot's Bug and Smudge remover and it came right off. Bug & Smudge Remover, 22 Ounces - Griot's Garage
After you "and her" get the car's finish back in order, buy her a car cover and remind her of the hazards of parking under trees...
Definitely get the 'her' involved. Next time she'll be a little more cognizant of where she parks. Defensive parking is a learned trait.
But when estrogen is involved in the chemical makeup there's no telling what the outcome may be...(go ahead ladies, I can take it. I've been under it's thrall for near 45 years.)
