The 14th Annual MINI Cooper Iowa Fall Tour, a joint driving event hosted by EIM and our friends in CIMC, will take place this year on Saturday, October 1st. Our rendezvous and starting point is the famous Little Brown Church in the Vale, located in Nashua. Be sure to arrive in time to enjoy the site. Our MINIs will be departing from the rendezvous location at 9:00 am sharp. Our route heads east toward our lunch destination, Dotzy's Restaurant and Saloon located in Elgin. Prior to lunch, we'll be making planned point of interest stops at the Fort Atkinson State Preserve in Fort Atkinson, and at the Montauk Governor's Mansion in Clermont. After lunch the route continues down the Turkey River valley through the towns of Elkader, Elkport, and Osterdock and then to the Mississippi Scenic Overlook just south of Guttenberg. We then twist our way along the river bluffs to North Buena Vista, then south through more bluff country and finishing up ~3:45 pm with an ice cream stop in Dyersville. We will be seeking a head count to provide to the Dotzy's staff. EIM folk, please sign up using any one of the usual options available to you. The locust and maple trees should just be coming into their vivid colorations over this weekend, making for some spectacular views. Should be another fun time. ---
My stomach has been acting up, so as much I want to make it we might have to pass:frown5:We'll see how tonight goes.
