You look authorized - the work looks really good, and that new battery box is really slick.

    That's a nice install, Nitro!
What's the brand/etc on the battery?

I really wish I could somehow trick Lynn into being my slave. He could live in a gimp box inside my garage and do my bidding on my car. Because THAT ROCKS.

That's only a mildly disturbing mental image I have to deal with now, thanks.

Slick setup, I wondered what your battery setup looked like after seeing your straight-through exhaust pictures.

Wha? You don't have a gimp box? I thought everyone had a gimp box.

I never said I didn't have one, it's just a matter of what it contains and the whole "do my bidding on my car" thing.

You have such a twisted mind. OK - I meant "do my bidding TO my car."

Here's the battery cover I made for my Braille. Not as nice as Nitro's install, but it works.

The rear seats look so strange with the backs removed.
Has anyone ever used this setup, but kept it recessed into the floor? Like not hack off all of the battery box, just the lower 2/3 of it?

I'm not ready to bring myself to do something like this yet but I would like a straighter exhaust path and want to keep my false floor sub enclosure at its current height. I figure removing most of the box would clear a 2.5" pipe (which should be all I need) with the muffler placed farther up in the exhaust stream.

There's no room for a muffler "further up the exhaust stream" sorry. There's 27" between the rear valance and the center tunnel holding the exhaust pipe. A short muffler is going to be useless, so you have to think at least 14" plus a few in and out, then the tips and the shortest tips I could find were 7". You just ran out of space, unless you want the pipe hanging 3" out the back like a turd that didn't snap off.

You could leave about 3" of the box below the floor, and still get a muffler in there, but it would be hanging pretty low.

I have yet to put a new floor where the seat bottoms are--just haven't got around to it. and the seats offer some noise deadening.
