While waiting at a red light, a voice cried out "that's a beauftiful car." Realizing it was the driver behind me who had gotten out of his car, I said "thank you." He replied "your welcome" and we both waved. Now I am convinced that in the 300 miles or so that we have traveled so far in our 2012 S, we have had many admirers. And no wonder, it is a smashingly beautiful car. But all but one has vocalized. My wife and I grinned all the way home.

I recently purchased a used MINI, new for me and have met some great people and have had a ball driving again. I find myself thinking about the next outing and what new back road I can find. So on the way to the DRAGON , How many times did you have to stop for sodas and cold beverages? Now that road trip season is here, MINI takes the States is close approaching. MITM is coming soon. BMW named Graeme Grieve as new sales head for the MINI brand effective June 1, 2012. Grieve, 50, moves to MINI from his role as head of BMW's importer markets in the Africa, Caribbean, Eastern Europe, Asia, Pacific and Middle East regions.

The JCW Engine Kit Coming to the Coupe & Roadster

Last week we brought you the history of the modern JCW Tuning kit. Now that history is getting a new chapter. The JCW Engine Kit is indeed coming to the R58 Coupe and R59 Roadster later this year. The tuning kit will be the same 197 hp (200 bhp) kit found in other MINIs with 199 lb-ft of over boost between 1,800 and 5,000 rpm.

The kit comes with:

Sports exhaust with chrome finish tailpipes with the laser etched JCW logo
Adapted air filter
Modified engine control unit
John Cooper Works badges Performance data

Likewise the JCW Suspension will also be coming to the Coupe later this year. The roadster won’t be getting the suspension however due to the assumed low volume they would sell.
