Not trying to thread jack but I had a conversation with Todd from WRR during MOTD 8 and he told me a story about a GP owner whose GP was wrecked (I think it was engine damage) but apparently got the kit from the junkyard prior to MINI getting ahold of it. Is Desmo that car? Reason I say all this is b/c I've never seen a non-GP with the GP kit and I've heard MINI is pretty active in making sure those aero parts don't end up on non-GP cars if they can help it.
Desmo If I were building a Mini, and it was a r53, this is very close to what I would have, or do. Very nicely, and concervatively done. You can be very proud of it. But, I will just have to make do with a 2011 BRG ll JCW that I will be driving in November, or December, whenever MiniUSA gets off their butts and publishes the prices on MINIUSA.COMhttp://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/images/smilies/mad5.gif
desmo is the result of my wife being broadsided by a mustang (unlicensed alien driver). So my 03 coopers S got a new lease on life (complete GP drive train, suspension including alloy trailing arms, body kit, brakes, seats and pretty much every thing else I could transplant. Kind of going from having 100,000 miles to 10,000 of normal wear. I love the way it came out.
I will not give away who I voted for, but I will say our mini's have something in common. ****Sad that my first post is a voting post.. must make it to the intro section.****
