Quick review - This book SUCKS! The details.... I wanted to like this book. I liked the way they did the marketing with The Stig going into book sellers and buying up all the copies, right from peoples hands if need be. Driving from book seller to book seller in a Lambo too. It was funny. Top Gear is often funny. So...one would think that the book would be funny too. All the fun was used on the marketing. The only ones having fun at this thing shaped like a book, with pages full of text and everything book like, are the publishers. There is NO substance, this thing shaped like a book, with pages full of text and everything book like in my opinion was only created for the sole purpose of money transfer. Away from the "reader" and to the seller. There is nothing redeeming about this thing shaped like a book, with pages full of text and everything book like. This thing shaped like a book, with pages full of text and everything book like shall occupy a hallowed spot on my book shelf as a reminder of all that is anything shaped like a book, with pages full of text and everything book like and not really a book. I can't recommend that money is spent for this thing shaped like a book, with pages full of text and everything book like that is not really a book. But, if you want... The Stig: The Untold Story (Top Gear): Simon Du Marche: 9781849905404: Amazon.com: Books You buy a copy from Amazon with that link, M/A gets a cut. But don't buy it, really, don't.
I read the reviews on Amazon and knew the "book" was a joke and not worth buying. Thanks for the two thumbs up review Nathan.:ihih::lol:
Isn't this book not published by Top Gear anyways, and it's the book the Stig himself put out? Easy for a quick buck, I never imagined it would be good...
But it looks like it would be so cool........Thanks for saving me from throwing money away...maybe they have it at the public Library? At least the videos were funny.
That's why he was running around buying all the books, as he didn't want anyone spending their money on it. Truth in advertising I guess?
Thanks for the heads up. As a Top Gear enthusiast I might have bit on this and will avoid it now. Currently I'm reading (Road & Track columnist) Peter Egan's On The Road. It's a compliation of his road trip columns from 1983 to 1996. Enjoy his writing and I can recomend this.
Nathan, you can/could make it part of my MOTM winnings!!! You get rid of it and I get to read it without spending money for it. Win Win all around! If done right, it really could have been a good book to read.. but.. guess it's not!!!! Thanks for the review...
