I ordered my R56 in late 2008 through Richard Martinelli at Motor City Mini. While there are many people who hate that place, Richard was a great guy to work with and he made the experience so much fun! While I had to go through the endless wait for the Mini I had the mod bug itch at my foot and I started looking at lots of aftermarket stuff to make the Mini my own. I ordered my turboback exhaust and CAI before I even had the car in my garage Cheesy When I finally got the Mini, it was a remarkable feeling. I just fell in love with the car as I'm sure everyone else has done with their own Mini. I also had no idea the importance of naming your car. My fiancée and I tossed around names for days. The first one was Onyx. It clicked at first, but something didn't match with the name and the attitude my Mini has. About a month later, Sara and I were drinking out on our porch and we started talking about our favorite names and I declared "Heinrich" was my favorite. OH SNAP! There it was! Whenever I think of the name, I think of someone who is aggressive and doesn't take any crap... that is exactly what I want my Mini to be!

As I look back on the history of this car, it is truly a gateway drug to the world of sporty affordable cars. I would have never though I would have liked this car so much.

Heinrich was my daily driver for two years until I retired it for summer trouble making drives and track duty. I'm now driving a '99 Pontiac Sunfire with 90 horsepower at the wheel. Oh yea!

My goal is to move up through the NASA HPDE ranks and eventually compete in time trials.

Engine noise! Still have stock stereo. Gotta have my tunes on the way to work or the long drive to the track. Gotta turn it up real loud to overpower all the road 'n' engine noise LOL!
