Considering these for my R50. Anybody have any experience with these guys? Fits BMW Mini Cooper S ONE Shift Boot E Brake Alcantara | eBay
No I have dealt with them but I do have the JCW Alcantara e-brake and shifter boots and they are great and easy to install.
I got the R53 leather dash kit, ebrake handle cover, ebrake boot and shifter boot for Christmas from my wife. The products are good quality and fit well. The end result is a really nice look. The shipping does take a little while because it's coming by boat. I plan on buying more from them to do the door arm rests and center arm rest covers.
I have been thinking about their steering wheel cover. Of course the red and black one. Topgaitors doesn't have the wheel covers.
Redline stuff is nice. I have the shifter boot and e-brake boot too. Very good quality material, good workmanship too.
I think I have what I want figured out, just need to see if they will do some custom stitching for me.
I ordered the topgaiters shift boot and e-brake boot with tan stitching. Unfortunately they sent me the 2 panel shift boot instead of the 4 panel but was quick to send out the correct one. In the mean time, I went ahead and installed the brake boot and Craven Speed brake handle. Back side of the stock boot verses topgaiters. Seam quality of topgaiters... Full assembly next to stock.
I like their products and the price is right. They offered to make a custom armrest cover for my if I send them over some pics. I'll be doing that shortly.
They sell on ebay. Here is a link to one of their listings: http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=231159235702&alt=web
Thanks guys! I asked before I had my morning coffee. I guess I could have seen the name of the thread.
So I ordered a set of gaiters (boots) from Topgaiter for the Justa. Black with Red stitching. Price was right, and fast delivery from the UK. That, however, is where the good news ends. I managed to get the shift knob off without smashing my sunroof, or neutering myself. Then I removed the old shift boot. When I tried to fit the new boot, the plastic inner retaining ring snapped. On closer inspection, I found that 1, the holes for the clips were incorrectly spaced, and 2, the holes are too far from the edge of the boot. :mad2: Now I can't even refit my old boot because of the broken retaining ring. To say that I am a little pissed would be an understatement. Let this be a lesson to all that are thinking of buying these boots. You get what you pay for, and check and double check the fitment of the holes. Anyone know where I can get a new retaining ring from?
Sorry to hear you had issues. The holes on mine were further up as well, but I used razor knife to trim off the excess material and make small tweaks to get the fitment the way I wanted it. Fitment of the new boot is a bit tighter due to the fact that you're going from a stretchy material to leather. With your fitment being that far off, I'd let topgaiters know and I'm sure they'll make it right.
