    I am thinking about changing the driver seat. But I don't want to spend $1000 on a Recaro. I know Dave O. put in a seat from an EVO. What has anyone else done?

    I suggest you find someplace that has a few available and do test sitting.

    I don't know how much it was to put EVO seats in, but as a general rule, OEM seats are more durable than aftermarket ones--even nice ones. I had a set of alcantara Milanos in a MINI that lasted maybe two years before they got tatty. I won't even talk about the Corbeaus that I had.

    The aftermarket Recaro's in my R53 are now 12 years old (I have owned them from new) - and have over 100,000 miles of seat time in them - they are not ratty or destroyed.

    The drivers side MOMO seat in my car is getting a bit ratty looking. Worn the material through on a bolster too.

    Yeah I kind of lucked out finding my OEM Mitsubishi Recaro Evo 9 seats yes they were expensive but worth it to me.

    $1,400 for the seats.... That was for a cheap "slightly used" pair.
    $500 Shipping (freight)
    $400 for all the brackets and sliders and misc hardware.
    $0 for my labor to install them the way I wanted them.

    Total = PRICELESS as they are so comfortable and since they are OEM Recaros they holding up great.
    Heck even my wife likes them even if she does not know how much they cost.
    (Pre-Marriage) :rolleyes5::ihih::devil:

    Since my backside is my most delicate feature, I certainly agree with Dave.0 and test sit any options first. It's your biggest contact patch, and if you put any time in it whatsoever, it's important to get it right.

    Recaro's are the only way to ride... I've got an original, perfect condition, 70s era set in my classic and I'm hoping to one day find a pair for my R53.

    That's a great link! My seats are out of an early 70s Porsche. I've got a few shots of them in my Garage.

    Unfortunately there is no place in Columbus to sit test seats. I could sit test OEMs in the different cars. If I could I'd put in the ST Recaros that are in my wifes Focus ST. They are great seats.

    Anyone know about Cipher or NRG?

    I'll keep looking at ebay for used Recaros too.
