Does anyone know if the plugs are the same on the 2005-2006 seats as the 2002-2004 seats without the weight sensor? I took the weight sensor out of my 2006 seat, but was thinking I might be able to use the seats in another pre-'05 car if the plugs were the same. (Heated seat if that matters.) I suspect they are, but was wondering if anyone knows for sure. Thanks.

My understanding is that they just have additional plugs for the heat and sensor, not a different one.

From everything I've read is yes it can be done. There is a write up here somewhere on the details.

    I'm considering it myself.

I did this to my 2004 R53 last spring...installing leather seats from a 2006. As I recall the connectors were the same, but there were some bracket differences that caused me to take some parts off the old seats and install on the new seats to make the installation successful.

Also, the 2006 leather seats did have the heating elements which were just an additional connector I did not use...just tacked them up out of the way.

Best plan is to save your old seats and use any parts needed to make the conversion successful.

Thanks. I was thinking of offering them up for sale, but without the weight sensor, the passenger seat would only work in a 02-04 car.

Get the occupancy mat emulator if necessary.
