A friends 2004 R53 seatbelt adjusters are stuck in the full down position. I can not get them unstuck.
Anyone know how to get them to move?

Nope, I would start by taking it apart, that maybe a mistake though.

Is there any slack available? If there is and you can't get the lock to release then the mechanism is probably stuck. Had this problem on an older car of mine and it took opening up the trim and lubing up the mechanism.

Try unbolting it from the B pillar if you can to get a little slack in the belt. If that doesn't work, take the cover off the roller and see if the belt is twisted inside. One or two twists can really jam things.
