New to MA, have quite a few posts over at NAM, but looking at the posts here I will hang out a little more.

Last weekend I put in a RMW Cam, some 450 injectors and one of Jan's tunes. From the start I have been throwing the P 1685 code. Years back this code was an issue but Jan tweaked the program a little and since then not issues.

I have checked the harmonic dampener, the BPV, the Throttle Body and the just did a SC pressure test. Did find a leak where the BPV attaches to the black sc duct but after putting everything back together I think the idle was more rough and I did not make out of my driveway before the EML came on. This is not a WOT issue but rather low revs. I am wondering if the 07/08 verts had a different ECU program than the R53.

When I can get the car to run, WOW.

Anybody here had issues like this?

    2007 CR R52 JCW
    GBNF 2006 BRG F53

From what I have found on the web, P1685 has a primary sequence of (TQ_MAX_CLU_MON) with a parameter of 220 to 250 nm. The secondary sequence is (LV_TQ_MON_ACT_MON) . The monitor length/frequency of checks is 0.24/0.04 seconds.

I have not heard anything from Jan. I am wondering if this is more tune related than software/hardware.

Yes both calls and emails. He has been working with me through the issue.

Got Tune.03 from Jan today. So far so good. Keeping fingers crossed that the third time is the charm.

Good luck, hope it all works out. Jan is the man to fix your tune issues if it's the tune and not a part issue.

The 3rd tune increased the idle to about 1,000 rpms. Engine pulls well, 4500 to redline is sweet. The Dominator cam adds a nice low end rumble. Had a buddy in the car earlier in the week, neither of us are too small, and he was quite surprised at how well the car pulled.

Have not driven a Gen2 or 3 JCW but from past cars, it is really close to the s2000s that I had that were 240 BHP. Quite satisfied with the results.

Jan/RMW is the Gen1 Mod God.
