The lease was way too expensive for what can't be the only vehicle for many people. Still, it's cool that the Sherrif's dept. is getting to use these at such a great price and will be able to save their gas powered vehicles for patrol use only. And BMW gets what they really want, unbiased feedback from many different people on the vehicle for use in future vehicle developement.

I think it's cool, since I love MINIs! Perhaps an officer driving one, decides to buy one!!! One more happy MINI owner. Oh...but I'd be happy to test it for $10 per month WITH maintenance!!!

It wasn't JUST the $850/month - some people who were prepared to pay that also found out that their garage needed thousands of $ in electrical upgrades to accommodate the charger.

Honestly - if I didn't have a kid in college right now, I would have gone for it. New technology costs extra - ask one of the people who bought a large flat panel TV 10 years ago...

Eventually, electric cars will come down - but the early adopters always pay for the privilege of being first.

Can't make it from my house to the Dragon on one charge. Must less a up and back trip. Would be nice to drive back and forth to work though.
