The Michigan State University College of Human Medicine is raffling a 2013 MINI Cooper to fund raise for new research equipment used to study Parkinson’s and other neurological diseases. The two-door sedan, imported from England and painted green and white, will be raffled off at $100 a ticket. All proceeds will go toward purchasing the new equipment, a laser scanning confocal microscope. George Sharpe, owner of four Grand Rapids auto dealerships, offered to finance the cost of purchasing the vehicle. Sharpe is a member of MSU’s Translational Science and Molecular Medicine Department’s Community Engagement Board and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s four years ago. Raffle tickets are $100 each and may be purchased at MINI of Grand Rapids or online here. The raffle will end April 14, and the drawing will take place at 7 p.m. on that day. The College of Human Medicine is limiting ticket sales to 2,500, enough to cover the cost of the microscope. - See more at: College of Human Medicine raffling new car for fundraiser | MSUToday | Michigan State University
Cool idea, but that #5 on the side looks a little strange ... (We do appreciate Michigan State kicking Ohio State's butt to push Iowa into the Outback Bowl though.)
Sorry the home team lost a big one. Some of my friends get sad when they lose. Me I don't give a rats arse who wins. Good luck to the Iowa corn pickers.
OK, Michigan sucks, we all know this to be fact. It does get colder than Ohio after all. But, I think this is an awesome cause, and I may just have to pony up the $100. Whats the worst that can happen? I lose $100? Maybe because I lose $100 they get closer to finding a working cure, or better yet, they find a cure. Of course best case scenario is that I win a new Mini and they discover the cure or effective medicine. Gentlemen, in short I am saying what the hell. Oh yeah, and Michigan sucks.
Well Michigan State did not suck Saturday.... Oh and Michigan (Big Blue) should have also won the week before. :aureola:
It's not bad for all of Ohio, Cincinnati doesn't care about the OSU / MI rivalry at all. It's all Bearcats and Muskies down there. It wasn't until I moved up here to Cbus that I'd even heard about OSU / MI.
Shudda, cudda, wudda...all from a PA guy whose Nitwitty Lions have sooooo much to be bragging about on the gridiron. Ahhhhhhhh...good ole Brady Choke...HE lost the game, NOT his team.
^^^^ Yeah I know we are rebuilding and doing what we can to stay strong as a University for the students that had nothing to do with what that (%*$%$# dirtball lied about and did to children. I hope he rots in HELL forever. He is the most hated person at PSU along with other school officials. I do not think believe (personally) JoePa was involved in a cover up as for others ABSOLUTLY. In the end lung cancer may have killed Joe but I and many other think he died of a broken heart because the school he loved so much had this @#$%^&* on its staff and did not nothing. We Will Restore the ROAR ! WE ARE STILL PENN STATE!
Sort of like being on M/A and hearing "R53 is the greatest modern MINI" EVERYDAY, or has that changed since I've been gone? I do agree with you though, it can be obnoxious at times. I'm an alumni and a huge fan of all things tOSU, but I find that the most obnoxious fans tend to be the ones that have never set one foot into a classroom/lecture hall on campus (or any campus for that matter) or had a kid go there. I wish that C-bus had a pro team so that these "fans" could direct their attention away from tOSU. Back on topic...MSU giving away a MINI in one of the best color combo's
JoePa was always one of my favorite coaches and it IS a shame that his name was smirched by the a-holes who ruined his legacy. I truly hope PSU can get on with their lives, both on and off the field. As for OSU, winning streaks are always going to be broken. OSU made a game of it, but ran out of gas at the end. I'll never understand why a quarterback thinks he is a running back, especially with Carlos Hyde's speed and power. THAT was the downfall. As good as Braxton is, he is NOT the power back that was needed. Oh Well, life WILL go on...for the Buckeyes AND for the Nittany Lions...just not so much this year.
Hi Brain! No things haven't changed R53 MINIs are still the best of all. There has to be a parallel in the VW world. What's the word on Vortex or MKVI forum?
It has not changed because it is still true.:lol::lol: :cornut: I thought you were leaving M/A and the MoM ? Are you like herpes now, you go away but always come back? Have FUN on your new forum and MOTOR ON!
I tend to stay away from Vortex, the layout is screwy and half the threads are vendor ads. On the MKVI forum there is getting to be more and more threads on MKVI vs the upcoming MKVII. The biggest division I see is between the stanced/non-stanced crowds. Even that seems to be relatively low key. I enjoy the F1 and WRC threads, so I still check them every once in while. I also enjoy watching people continue to make friends here and on NAM. Funny thing that I have noticed on all the forums I'm on...people on summer tires blaming their poor winter handling on the car!!!!
