What radar detector do you use in your mini, if any?

Valentine One is supposed to be the best. Don't waste your money on anything less than the best. Haven't used a detector in 20 years & haven't received any awards of velocity. Of course I always toddle along under the limit. :D

I've used a Rocky Mountain RMR-C435 for the last three years and love it!

RMR for me as well although I don't know the exact model. But it works great. Cleaning up that driving record.

Valentine One. I've used several, but the V1 is the only way to go IMO.

Doesn't just tell you when to slow down. Tells you when you should GO FASTER.

Whistler less than half the price of the Valentine 7/8s as good. The last tests and reviews had the Escort over the Valentine.

I've had a detector since the fuzz buster came out. After the fuzz buster were Escorts (the best at the time), then a Uniden (crap), then Whistlers. I have had a speeding ticket since 1981. Knock-on-wood.

It's not only the tool it's knowing how to use it. I've talked to people that have gotten tickets with detectors because they don't know how to read it. The first Escorts came with a great book that, if you read it, told you how to read the signals.

Thanks everybody! I have done some online research, but trust my mini family more.

I've never had one, but have been doing more long drives since getting my mini.

When I follow Chuck, I behave, but not so much when by myself

Thinking one could come in handy driving back from Boston.

I have a Cobra xrs9970g. The gps system was great; it warned about red light cameras, places cops like to sit, etc. but I lost the gps piece when moving. :cryin::mad2:
I haven't replaced it because I want to get a Valentine one. I have heard lots of good things about them.

I have a Beltronics 995. I like it, has great range.
I have the display set to show voltage as its default setting, it makes it easier to monitor electrical system health without adding an extra gage.

It's been 14 years since my last ticket & no detector in the world would have warned me of the instant on lidar the well hidden Sherif was using. I figure if I had a detector I'd probably have more tickets. I have a friend that runs a detector & I believe he has had a couple tickets in the last 2 years. Justa my .02. :D

My V1 picks up Laser and Instant on Radar from very far away.
Now the trick is understand what your detector is doing / telling you and adjust your speed quickly.
I run with a pack of cars and stay back about a 1/4 mile and when I get those FULL short alerts I SLOW DOWN.

That is the sign someone (LEO) is using Laser or Instant on Radar ahead picking off cars as they come by.

Lets use say  81 S and N within 20 miles of Roanoke Va is a perfect example.

When you are on a country road there is no pack of cars. So no warning, just bang gotcha. Hates paying the speed tax. :prrr:
