I realize I need to ask my local Mini dealer, and I will, but I figured maybe someone here had experience with this:

Anyone know if Mini will honor the Boot to Bonnet maintenance warranty for a used 2015 Mini that I didn't buy directly from them? We bought Laura's F56 from the local Mercedes dealer. It was a demo car with 1000 miles on it, and has the balance of the factory warranty. Got a hell of a deal over a new one ($8k less than if we had bought it new), but was curious if I could get them to honor the maintenance agreement they keep touting.

I'm happy to do that work myself, but if they are paying, all the better.

I believe it's based on the car mileage / age and not based on the original owner.... So you should be good...

That was what I am hoping, but couldn't find a definitive answer in my brief online search. Thanks for the reply.

I'd call MINI and ask. 866-ASK-MINI

I've read that it is only transferable when selling the car to a family member. While I hope I am wrong, it would be best to call MINI and verify.

My MINI dealer honored mine, even though I got it used from someone not them.

So I finally had a few minutes and drove it over to Classic Mini to ask about this. Turns out the car is still covered under the full Boot to Bonnet maintenance program, even though we are technically the 2nd owner. (Yay!) They also found an open recall for rear side impact or some such, which they are fixing now. So all in all, a good trip.
