I bet they either delete the entire thread or neuter it to remove everything from the GoFundMe post on.

    Leaning towards neutering.

This makes me want to go back to the day when the most high tech thing I had was a slide rule.

And if that guy was my son he just lost his share to my daughter!

Wow, is that kind of thread common over there? If so, I won't be joining. I've already suffered through enough forums like that -- and quit them.

Amazing!! From what I remember about the place, I'm surprised the thread wasn't locked as soon as the 0-60 vid was posted since there wasn't detailed deeds and plats proving that it was on private property. This is probably well past the douchdemeanor category and well into felonious douchbaggery on BOTH sides.

I got bored with NAM when the "speed limit worshipers" and the "maintenance by the book" people got militant and attacked anyone who dared to post anything to the contrary.

I remember a thread where I had a disagreement with a fellow who attacked anyone who mentioned 5000 mile oil changes (or one between what the computer said). I sent him into apoplexy when I told him about my regular 2K mile oil change regimen. As I recall, at the time, we had about the same number of miles on our cars. I offered him a $100 bet that we could get our cars together, pull the valve covers, drop the oil pans and compare engine cleanliness (loser pays for new gaskets). He wasn't willing to put his money where his big mouth was.

We all owe Nathan a great debt for founding MA. The only thing better than a MINI are the owners who love them, and we have a great community here. I wish I had more time to devote to it and more witty things to contribute, but I do enjoy my time here.

PS They're advertising for people (paid posters) to do for NAM that we gladly do for one another here.

The same Douchebag that locked down M/A posts locked that thread.

I think everyone was right to call out the OP asking for donations (go fund me) for a down payment on a replacement on a car that was in an accident that was not his fault. He already has 2 Mini and wants a clubman and NAM members to give him money for a down payment. lol

This is what has happen with the Bernie / Millenals kids that think they should not have to work for want they want and everyone should give them the world.

    The power of anonymity....
Just like folks troll cause folks don't know who they are, the same types of people beg and panhandle.
Or maybe they feel like they are Bernie's friends....don't want to make things political, but the feeling of entitlement that folks have has got to stop. Sure, if an individual is VERY well known, and has done lots for a couple of people or a group, some people will step up...but to just put your hat out and say, give me $$. Crazy crap.

    Lol....
Sorry Dave...I had to laugh....know he has a bit of history here...but everyone has messed up. Don't take this wrong...but you could almost be his alter-ego....it might explain lots!!:D
Ok, just kidding, but somebody has to keep the streets safe for the newbies on Nam. Would you work for them?! Nope. So the community does owe him something imo for dealing with some crap to help newbies.

I might have sent the guy a PM diplomatically explaining how his crowd funding thing might come off as a bit shallow. But, it guess I wouldn't experience the same personal satisfaction with myself as I would with a good public shaming post.

Some of us choose to spend our time constructively, actually building cars that run and stuff.

Says the guy who had over 8000 posts on NAM.

What a bunch of a$$ hats over there.

I didn't know begging was connected with entitlement. So the guy wanted to see if anyone felt bad enough for him to give him money. Yes no self respect or pride. But it didn't hurt anyone and unlike other "fund me" scams he was honest about what he wanted to do with the money.

Now if he thought everyone on NAM should give him money for the privilege of his company that would be entitlement.

I remember seeing two guys begging in the market in Seattle 20 years ago get up and walk over to to their $100k motor home to get a drink. With go fund me they could do it without being outside.:cornut:

The stupid NAM is the NAM and that's why we are here on M\A not NAM.
