    If the 318 turns to Deal's Gap isn't enough, the remaining 100 or so turns down Hellbender [NC 28 from Deal's Gap to Fontana] should put the icing on the cake insofar as being ready for a nap, a cigar, or a beer.:devil:

    I'm glad to finally see an article on the Dragon that says it a little more like it is, instead of trying too be to PC and pussyfooting around the speed, speed limits and actual risks involved, that those who have been there understand.

    Never been to the Dragon, but I think articles like this would attract more negative public/govt. attention and bad drivers who might ruin what you have. Keeping it on the DL as much as possible seems like the best way to keep a good thing from getting ruined.

    I am in complete agreement with you Red Bull. All an artical like that does is attract more goof offs who think the only thing keeping them from being a racing God is a call from Roger Penske.

    On an early morning that road can be an entertaining drive, but later in the day it is zoo-land. There are so many fine roads in the area that one doesn't need to endure the idiots on that one.

    Want to hang it out, race track. :D

    100% agree and this is also why our group does not drive the Dragon on Saturday due to TMI.

    TMI = Too Many Idiots

    Trust me, there's a lot more roads in the area that the locals don't want you to know about.

    Articles like this do attract a crowd, often of the wrong type, but it does a good job of keeping them localized into one small area though too.

    I thought it was because of eating too much of your wife's good cooking and being in a food coma on Sat.

    Partly true. Also, start drinking the last of the beer first thing Saturday, so we are good for the early wake-up and drive home Sunday. No reason to take the beer back home again.
