So, I have this business colleague that I deal with a lot. He's about 6-foot-4, and he's pushing 300 pounds -- not fat, just really big.

His daily driver is a Smart car. It is a real kick to see him get out of that car. And, he is very comfortable in it.

If you have never driven a Smart car, it is amazing how roomy the passenger compartment is.

Now, I'm only 5-foot-11, and 185 pounds, and I am VERY comfortable in my R56 MINI CS. There is no way anyone can sit in the back seat behind me, but I have all the room I need.

So, how big are you, and how well do you fit in your MINI?

It happens to me and my friends all the time.
I'm 6' 240 and I'm the token "little guy" most of my friends are 6'3"+ and 280+ and also just big guys.

It's hilarious to see the expressions on people's faces when two of us get out of my Mini or my pseudo "clown car" Scion IQ, at the same time.

I too am very comfortable in either, but same here, no room in back.

    6' 3" 250# and I am comfortable.
The Seat is all the way down and back and I have about an inch of head clearance because I prefer to sit more upright.

I'm 76" and am presently at 16.4 stones and dropping (I've lost 1.8 stones over the last 10 weeks). The mod that keeps on giving...

I'm healthier and my MINI is faster.... HAH

I never use the back seat for passengers...

    My MINI fits me fine...

    I ain't little...

    I fit comfortably.

People often point and exclaim "You drove that!" after they see me get out.

Only 5'8" here, but I know an owner who's 6'8" and daily drives a MINI. A road rager started to approach his R53 at a toll booth one day and quickly turned around when he saw this towering driver get out telling him to get back in his car. :biggrin5:

5'10, 178 lbs. Lots of room in my '13 Hardtop. I've got the seat jacked up so I can put my left arm on the door when the glass is down.

I'm big at 6 feet nothing and have no problems whatsoever. A guy at our church wanted a test drive...he's about 6'6" and 275 or so. I put the seat all the way back for him and his feet still could not reach the front so I had to bring the seat forward for him!

Brief hijack: So years ago (20+) I was on the north end Jersey Turn Pike around 9 am. As I pulled up to the last toll booth the road was empty. I paid the guy and he asked if I had a sec. Sure, he proceeded to tell me a good joke, which I don't remember now. We both shared a good laugh that morning. It never hurts to take a little extra time.

Now back to your regularly scheduled MINI fitment.

I'm 6'2" or so and, as with any small car, when I first visited the MINI dealer back in '02 my attitude was that before trying out the car I needed to try it on...see if it fits. With the seat adjusted, lots of room, better than anything else near the same size.

On the other hand, rear seats? What rear seats? When I adjust the driver's seat (bear in mind, this is an '02) the rear seat was more like a vestigial organ, useless and occasionally troublesome, so my MINI hasn't had rear seats since before most MINIs were built. It's a little lighter and even more practical.
