Hi there, I know I haven't been on here long...but I've had a great time with this MINI but I have to get a different car. Many of you are familiar with this car. But please let me know if you have any questions about it. What's been added to the MINI since I've owned it, is the 4 point roll cage, rear seat delete and carbon fiber hood with hood pins. It now has 54k miles on it and has been very well maintained. There is some wear on the drivers door side lumbar. Other than that the car is in great shape!
Here is all of the history of the car, plus latest specs. Haven't autocross all year. I drive it to the airport on Monday morning and from the airport on Fridays. On the weekends I usually drive the wifes car. So the MINI hardly gets driven anymore. I change the oil with Royal Purple 0w30 every 3 months or 3k miles. But I hardly get 1200 in 3 months! Current miles is 54,803. So, since I bought it, I've only put about 12,000 miles on it or about 6000 a year. 1/9/2015 replaced front windshield because of cracks suffered from winter driving installer broke the driver side windsheield trim piece. Got a replacement. 12/2014 made a carbon fiber hood based on the OEM hood. needs adjustment. not bad for first attempt will make an other one weighs just 8 lbs without the lights, OEM hood weighs 35. 6/29/2014 performed Inspection 2 changed oil Royal Purple 4 qts 0w30 @ 51,217 miles no material on magnetic drain plug changed air filter with K&N 3" cone changed spark plugs with NGK IridiumIX plugs gapped @ .8 mm and torqued to 27Nm previous plugs were Brisk premium. plug 1 - normal plug 2 - normal plug 3 - slight corrosion on plug wire and at coil. cleaned up and applied dialetric grease. plug had some corrosion as well but no on electrode plug 4 - normal changed plug wires with Import Direct OE. applied dielectric grease at plug and coil pack replaced v belt 12/2013 purchased bluetooth OBD2 dongle and TorquePRO app for my Android phone. also purchased RacingMeter plug-in for TorquePro https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sensadigit.racingmeterfortorque found I have codes for bad oxygen sensor(s). Replaced both but still throwing code. 8/9/2013 oil change with Royal Purple 5w30 @ 48,390 miles bought clay bar for detailing 7/17/2013 Ferguson Iron Works welded in a 4 point roll cage $600 painted it red 6/2013 Broke motor mount during autocross. Took to C&H to diagnose rattle on acceleration, they found broken mount. Noise was actually coming from O2 sensor bung rubbing against exhaust tunnel under car I fabricated a replacement bracket for the mount and fixed the problem 4/4/2013 registered for test & tune then autocross event #1with ASNW. $35 3/29/2013 Bought and installed new shorty antenna and rear hatch badge. Mini of Seattle, for way too much. $107 3/2/2013 Took 17" wheels and Toyo tires to Les Schwab for installation and balancing $95 2/27/2013 Bought a set of 4 Toyo Proxes R1R in 215/45/17 delivered on 2/31. 2/17/2013 bought a set of used Enkei 5 spoke wheels $300 2/15/2013 Oil changed @ 43,959 miles royal purple 5w30 bought 1 5 quart jug and 1 single quart $60.63 earlier bought 'first oil change' kit from Way Motor Sports kit included oil filter with gasket, magnetic oil drain plug, and 36mm oil filter socket also purchased Craven dip stick (installed 2/8/13) and rear wiper motor installed (2/9/13} all for $181.95 replaced the blown hatch struts with the used VW hatch struts, same model and works great. 2/9/2013 Installed the rear wiper motor and wiper arm Turns out the 2006 wiper motor has a connector that is not the same as for the harness of the 2005. So I had to improvise to make it fit. Works great. Had a problem with the squirter though and had to repair a broken plastic tab. Works though. Learned that the rear hatch struts are blown. Replaced them. 2/8/2013 installed Craven oil dip stick bought 'first oil change' kit with magnetic oil drain bolt & oil filter wrench. Rear wiper motor and arm came in. Will install tomorrow. go my new tabs, expires Jan 2014 1/26/2013 Installed the IE camber plates and fixed windshield wiper squirter issue 1/23/2013 Ireland Engineering camber plates delivered! 1/19/2013 Removed the Tiberon shift boot. I don't think we know enough about this Mini yet. Please tell us more. :smile5: Joking, of course. That is certainly a detailed history. Really nice and thorough. Good luck with the offers. I hope you do well. You should. it is a very nice looking and obviously well-cared for car.
Very nice. If my big truck sells before this car is sold, I may just have to take a road trip across the Northern Rockies and check it out.
Definitely a unique ride! Nice ride! Surprised it's still for sale, seen it at local craigslist. A free Monday morning bump!
