I fix Macs for a small outsourced IT company. I've been doing this kind of work since the last century. No, I don't fix iPhones.
I am a Sr. Application specialist for a major US Payroll company. I work at home using MS SQL and surf the web and M/A all day from home.
I'm a facilities engineer. I do improvement projects and maintenance for about two dozen administrative office buildings and sixteen high density data centers. I know it sounds boring, but I get to see what's in all the locked off places, and every day is like an episode of How Do They Do It.
I teach college automotive courses, after spending about 30 years in the car bidness and the last 13 as a facilities engineer for a manufacturing plant.
I am retired and I play, travel and enjoy my MINI and the Countryman/ I spent 32 years doing fun things within Bell Telephone, various companies, all computer work, no don't ask me to fix your phone. I have been retired since 2001.
:cornut: Retired Physician Assistant who at various times worked family practice, hospital internal medicine, orthopedics, emergency room, aviation and diving medicine, battle field trauma, a smattering of dental, veterinary and preventive med, guerilla medical teaching in a world wide environment. I retired in 2008 as a Battalion Chief from California's largest fire service organization, CAL FIRE, after serving for 33 years. I taught in the Fire Technology program at our local Community College for 13 years and have mentored many young men and women seeking a fire service career. I still work for the Department on a part time basis, am an active member of our Department's Historical Society, enjoy my family, travel some, landscape, cook and drink a bit of beer and wine and, dabble with these Minis... both off and on the track. It's nice ta meet y'all.
I've worked in computer software my entire career (30+ years). When I began, the job positions were called computer programmer. Later we became known as software engineers or software developers. I started on IBM mainframes and followed the shrinking technology to PC/Mac and now to mobile (Android and Windows Phone). I worked at 2 large corporations, then at 4 startups. The first 3 startups all failed, and the 4th was acquired by Samsung where I am now working on a music app product.
I doubt it is a surprise to anyone I own and operate Motoring Magic, a MINI specialty shop in Thousand Oaks, SoCal. Started working at a Chevy dealer in 1971 at age 17, moved to Porsce-Audi in 1975 and never looked back. Along the way I spent 2 years at a Harley Dealer for fun, owned an insurance adjusting deal for 10 years and an Airbag Service franchise for 12 years before Motoring Magic. The Airbag Service gig led me to partner in a collision shop (the most money I ever made AND the WORST business I was ever involved in-money is NOT everything) which brought me my 05 MCS and the rest is now history. I never wake up and don’t want to go to work!
I'm a pilot for an over night company. When it absolutely positively has to be there it may be on my plane. But my most important job is as a father to 4 great kids and husband to a wonderful wife.
