I have been with T-Mobile for 10 years and they are wanting more but giving less... I have fallen in love with my iPad2 and I'm now seriously considering buying an iPhone. I want to hear the good & the bad...not just for the iPhone, but for the wireless carrier you use with your iPhone.
I have tried several, but Verizon won out because: 1. I get bars while living in this shadow of Site R. 2. I get bars in the Metro under DC. Jim
I've been on AT&T since it was the only choice. Since my unlimited data plan is grandfathered in and I would go over anyone else's plans I've stayed put.
Makes excellent sense, of course! When we moved to VA, we had Verizon wireless. When we got married, his contract with Verizon was getting ready to expire, so we changed my Individual plan to a Family plan w/1000 Shared Minutes and we both upgraded our phones. First billing cycle was no biggie. The NEXT billing cycle was a nightmare because that's when we found out it wasn't an "equal share" between both lines. Somehow the Family Plan was setup as if he was the Primary (750 minutes) and I was the Secondary (250 minutes). It was a nightmare and we early-terminated because they refused to acknowledge the error (MY name was listed as Primary on all the Family Plan paperwork we had to fill out). Anyhow...if we were still with Verizon today, we'd also have unlimited data grandfathered in. As it stands, I'll be paying 79.99 for 450 minutes, 250 texts & 2GB of data. Since the MAJORITY of the texts (I average 115-130/month) are from the boss, I'm going to talk to him about reimbursing me for the text msg. fee since I wouldn't use it if he wasn't texting me ALL the time. I have to wait until 9pm tonight to "reserve" my iPhone at the Apple Store tomorrow. I guess that's so they can have accurate inventory? Woohoo!
We have been with all three major carriers and are currently with Sprint. I am extremely happy with the coverage and the service. I have 4 people on my family plan unlimited data and text and pay $200 a month out the door. My wife and I came from AT&T and were paying almost $200 a month for 2 iPhones...now we have 4 at the same price.
I have been on Sprint for 10 years now and I am getting ready to upgrade my Blackberry to an iPhone, service has been good and coverage has alwawys been very good, hard to beat unlimited talk and data for 69.00 a month.
To those of you with the iPhone 4S: I've read articles about a problem with the battery life, namely, 1% usage in just 15 minutes even if the phone is locked/sleeping. Articles are consistently stating that it is extremely rare to get a full day's use out of the battery. Thoughts?
Much of the drain appears to be location based services related. I don't have a 4S yet, but I did experience a slight drop when I went to iOS 5. Turning off some of the unnecessary location based services seems to have resolved it. My friends with 4S phones have not reported any problems.
My nephew does have a battery drain problem on his 4S. He recharges at mid-day, otherwise it might not last to the end of the day.
Erika, there is now iOS v5.01 which fixes the battery problem for some 4S users Apple releases fix for iPhone battery bug - Business - CBC News
Jim is working on his social game so that when he gets is new shiny Roadster 'S' that people will recognize who's driving so fast! It's all part of the plan.
Got the entire color, mod plan figured out and a name as well. Just sit back and wait a bunch of years and I'll have it. Bars a good MM. Jim
Verizon for me! I have had coverage and dropped call issues with AT&T and my previous experience with Sprint was less than favorable. Course, I'm grandfathered in with Verizon's unlimited data so that's a no brainer.
Sooooo, has anyone else with an IPhone had difficulties uploading pictures from their phone to their computer or even posting photos with their IPhone to Forum Runner. I think there is a little problem with the latest software update 5.0.1. Started with mine when I uploaded the X.X.1 version. I even shut off the ICloud, but no worky. Edit..... Why the heck did iPhone print out in red. Weird. Sorry, didn't mean to do the hijack thing here.
Depends on where you are, but having had Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon in the Southwest US I can give you this impression: Sprint: Sucks. Bad voice/txt and data coverage. When it works it's fast and clear... When it works. I will say their customer service is really good though. AT&T: Great voice/txt. Never had a coverage issue except for a few finiky areas. Data is generally slower than other carriers and coverage is poor. Verizon: Best voice/txt coverage. Least number of "dead" spots. Fast data (3G/4G LTE). Customer service is mediocre. I've been with Verizon for 5years now. I'm gonna stick with them for now. I'm happy with what I've got.
