I guess I'd better prepare to ignore yet another email from Barry telling me how poorly I run this site since I don't edit out honest feedback and that I should not post that I received an email from him. Consider this a preemptive post then, it I've already written about how I'm going to ignore it Barry, don't waste your time, better the time be used to pay the pittance to those you promised to pay. Looking forward to seeing you at MOTD too Barry.
Not many people will see your work in Mr. Barry's rag. Since he & his rag are swirling around to bowl waiting to go down. I'm very sorry you are being screwed, but this scenario does not surprise me one bit. Thanks for sharing your work in the blog. Very well done. Motor on MC2.....
That sucks..... Also one of the reasons when I did freelance work I got 50% up front. Another reason I haven't done freelance work in years.... You get screwed over by clients a lot :mad5:
This thread has almost 10 post and that is to way too much attention for Barry and his rag MC2. Long live the internet and goodbye newspapers and magazines.
Thanks for support, fellow MINIACs... I am just surprised and dissapointed over the past six months since I shot two MINIs for Mr. Barry how ignorant and uncommunicative he is (was). Never a follow up, never a prompt resonce... Like we are in a stone age. And at the same time I see him posting like a teenage girl on FB left and right. Social butterfly! I am still waiting for any kind of reply from Mr. Barry. I see he is doing a project car now. I tell you, at least one rim and tire on that car are MINE!
Ok so I've tried not to weigh in on this one but I can't help my self. I was a charter subscriber and kept my subscription till around September. I then changed over to an iPad subscription. I have yet to be able to download a magazine, He did email me one. There was one time I renewed and when I never got a magazine in the mail I was told I had not renewed. It would be nice if there was a good Mini rag out there but I guess not. I'm amateur photographer, I know it's hard for a Pro to make it these days. It really bother me that you did a photo shot for him and didn't even get payed. I can find better things to do with my money.
Here is a better idea let's post pro photos and stuff on a website and skip the rag. Now if we only had a place to do that? M/A Things would be spelled correctly and it would be current and relevant.
So Mr. Barry is back online tonight! Just announced a new "contrubutor" over at FB... Congratulations, to Mr. Lewis. No word from Mr. Barry on my "confession"...
I still get the mag simply cause it is just enough of a read for me to pay for it.....but it is getting to be a lot harder to justify it to myself. It is getting harder and harder to overlook the mis-information and crap and this may be the final straw. BUT I did like his editorial in the last issue.....gives MINI/BMW hell for the direction they are going with the new MINI's. Yea surprised me too......
My only mag purchase came as a result of my 70 being featured back in the May-June 2007 issue. Never any plans to subscribe... Certainly not now that I know of all the turmoil.
I unsuscribed due to bad editing of our stories, misspelled names and broken club support promises...FYI, the FBook post is either buried or has been removed...
I "unburied" the post on LXM page... Still no word from Mr. Barry... Anybody wants some parts off his "project car"? Some parts are mine, you know....
It's probably not "his" project car but some other company that he has pulled the wool over their eyes by offering the moon When they realize all he has is moldy cheese they too will be yet another MINI company left in the wake with a handful of nothing.
I bought some back issues and they were so much better than what I was currently getting that I dropped the subscription. I now get the digital version of Modern MINI.
