So I promised a friend a few boxes of Thin Mints; but they have to be the original recipe, made by ABC Bakery. Not the more recent "healthier" ones, made by the Little Brownie Bakery. :frown2: Anyone have a source? I want to ship them to New Hampshire; so if I can find them anywhere near there, so much the better. Thanks!
ebay.... Check the Item specifics for ABC Bakery instead of the other one. I've seen both listed. Oh, and if you buy them from that link, M/A gets a commission from eBay, not from the kids.
Up in NH/ALL OF THE NE I THINK...we get the The OTHER BAKERY.... Not abc...checked in the closet (daughter, a dsisy..1st grader...the Jr program sold them this year)... There are 2 that bake them regionally..... Just Need to buy them in the right part of the country...
Just 'thin', and not 'waffer-thin'? [ame=http://youtu.be/HJZPzQESq_0]"a thin mint" Monty Python - YouTube[/ame] Apparently this short sketch took two days to film and so the special effects ingredients (including lots of cream of tomato soup) had gone off under the strong lights, so by the time of the explosion the other customers reactions/revulsion was mostly real, not acting.....
Coincidentally, my friend lives in NH! Good old Nathan came through for me. Found some original-recipe thin mints on ebay, for a decent price. They're ordered and on their way to Hooksett.. Thanks again, Nathan!!
I tell ya, those Girl Scout cookies have me cruising past major shopping centers and grocery stores, even when they are not on my way home :biggrin5:
I quit buying the damn things because of the new "healthier" recipe, changed the taste; used to buy a case every year and ration them out all year long (keep em in freezer in garage) ;got one last year and ended up giving the whole case away after opening the first box. Can't stand the change, don't know why but just don't like them any more. If I still had any I'd send them to ya! Good luck with the search.
We sell nearly a thousand boxes a year at our shop for my niece's troop. We've got some left if anyone needs any. You pay shipping and 3.50 a box we'll get em to ya!
That's why you have to make sure they're from the ABC Bakery; same original recipe. The new ones are made at The Little Brownie bakery; like eating cardboard.
