As there are several dream choices, I've decided on the 1956 Aston Martin DB3S, in its original racing livery. My dilemma, however, is I'm a bit short of the 5.5 Million it'd take to put me in the seat.

Not much to choose from in 1947. Guess I'll just go with my Dad's Chevy Fleetline.

A rally? Here's hoping it's the right kind of rally.

I don't think it matters if it was available to the public. You could rally a Willys "Jeep." :biggrin5:

Nice choice. I've had the good fortune to meet Derek Bell on four or five occasions. I have a picture of us together, somewhere, from the Monterey Historics, where my friend and I had a long car talk with him. Of course, we had my friend's cute little daughter with us, and she was wearing a pink Porsche hat. She was about 8 years old. The conversation started with Derek kneeling down for a picture with my friend's little girl, and she knew who he was -- good girl, daddy taught you well. :biggrin5:

Okay, although I am tempted to go with a 1961 Checker Marathon, so I can boot the rest of you off the road, and not damage my car, I'm going to go with my artistic, sophisticated side.

My choice is the 1961 Jaguar E-Type. 1961 was the first year for the E-Type, and Enzo Ferrari called it, "The most beautiful car ever made." In my opinion, it is still one of the most beautiful cars ever made.

When a car still makes you stop and look longingly 55 years after it was introduced, you know you got the design right.
