    CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS!

Should you be a member of MINI2 or one of the 100's of sites owned by Vertical Scope, welp, they've been hacked.

Basically, if you are any other car, pet or sports forum look at the footer, see if it is part of AutoGuide.com. Motorcycle.com, PetGuide.com, ATV.com, Tractor.com, The Truth about Cars or any of the other sites found here http://www.verticalscope.com/ Change your passwords!

Disclosure: I've done freelance work for VerticalScope in the past.

In this case you probably had a unique PW for that site. If so, then don't worry about it. Being most people use the same PW across all sites, not a good idea BTW, then grabbing a PW from one site means they can get to others.

Now what they glean from you M/A account is pretty much nothing but a PW and IP info. No Credit Card or PayPal info has been stored on the M/A server. Nor has contact info you've not freely provided in a post or PM has ever been stored on the M/A server.

Best advice I ever got for passwords is to have an easy to remember part.....like a special day, phrase, something like "741776" (July 4 1776) and then append to the end a unique to the site addition. Like this 741776M/A......that way you have a unique password for all of your sites that is easy to remember.

How do I stop the pop-up ads from covering links on the page?
Sometimes, there is an ‘X’ to close the ad, other times, there’s not.
Trying to get to the User CP to change my password.
Only seems to happen there and not within the 'regular' forums...

There are no pop up ads from M/A.

Scan your computer with Malwarebytes and Spybot.

If I start making forums my entire life again, I've been hacked..

I do still check in on everyone, but for once I want to get out and off the screen for fun. I'm doing great though, things are looking up.
