The article mentions "Petrol powered" a couple of times. What else would it be? Diesel. maybe coal?:incazzato: Dave
Unfortunately Jaguar lost their sporting heritage long ago with the end of the E type.... Hope they can look backwards and see what they've been missing all these years.... I'm sure Porsche is worried....
FWIW, here's the C-X16 concept they say the F-type is based on. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uUOqvyLerI]JAGUAR C X16 - YouTube[/ame]
"Speaking in New York this week, Jaguar brand director Adrian Hallmark stated, “We showed the C-X16 concept in September 2011, and the reaction to it has been so positive that we've accelerated our development of an all-new Jaguar sports car.†Jaguar also revealed that the F-Type’s development schedule moves to final on-road testing, with engineering prototypes now leaving the automaker's Castle Bromwich plant in the UK--the same plant at which the production cars will be built."
I don't see it either. FWIW, Motor Autority's attempt to describe/explain can be found in these 2 related stories. Not a lot of help but it sounds like it might actually be a bit more than just an F-Type variant of an XK. Here it is, in a leaked pre-reveal photo lifted from an article on Motor Authority (Jaguar F-Type Leaked: Finally, No Camo):
For some reason I like it despite the GTR front, Aston Martin hood and Ferrari California rear quarters.
I think their variation on the GT-R(ish) theme for the front works really well with the rest. I'd like to see a slightly more beefy rear quarter approach but otherwise I like it. Based on the examples above it looks to me like this is one of those cars that will look much better in some colors than others.....let's see one in true BRG.
