So Peugeot has tuned their variant of the Prince engine to 270hp and 243 lb-ft. Come on MINI were is you muscled up N18!

Indeed...here's an auto mfr. releasing this very high-tuned version of this powerplant, presumably warranty'd and so forth. Would be fun to have that power level in my MCS, wonder what Pug did for clutch and transmission changes compared to their less-racy version of this car?

Here is the Evo descriptino of what Peugeot had to do to get 266hp:

I imagine that BMW/Mini didn't want to share in this development of this engine, since they won't be using it in the future once the F56 is out.

Why would MINI want that, it would be better than the new GP2.

From the back it looks sort of like the newer gen Audi TT.

Me likey. It's a shame MINI didn't want in on that 270hp Prince. Would have been a great motor for the JCW models or even just the GP2.

I saw a couple of RCZs today. They are nice looking in person. Much better than those ugly new 500Ls.

But waaay bigger than a Mini - sure, smaller than a F150, but not small. 6" wider than a Mini.

Saw a few 500L's in France a few weeks ago. It's simply a larger turd than the 500.

I'll second that but I don't think they would have participated anyway, even if the engine was to be retained, unless the goal was to develop an engine for a BMW. Seems to me history has shown BMW averse to letting any production BMW be out-powered by any stock MINI. They don't even need to collaborate, have plenty of in-house ability to improve the output of an engine, and could have done better with either the Tritec or Prince but chose not to.

Yes, they are all over in France. I have seen way too many the last couple of days. There are even 2 parked in front of my hotel that I have to look at every time I leave. Hideous....
