So we got a flier in the mail from Ford with upgrades and options for my wife's Focus ST. The one that caught my was a tuning package. A set of colder plugs and a tuning module. This little upgrade delivers 90 ftlbs of torque! I though it was a miss print so I went to their website. Nope. The HP has the same peak but comes up sooner and then stays flat for a while. But a 2 liter with 360 ftlbs of torque AND a factory warranty. For only $595. I won't be getting it, at least not right now. My wife can get in plenty of trouble with the current 270.
I got the same think from mail too, sorry but I'm never was a big fan of Ford factory parts and tune because they always seen cost lot more and little bit mild not as aggressive but of course the warranty think... but just like Mini depend on the dealer and who you know will do for you. my ST have many mods (list in my garage) even with all that my dealer warranty me a band new transmission in October when the synchronizer on the second gear go out, they fix it with no problems.
:cornut: Aw now how you gonna act man.:frown2: Denying the lovely little Lady a power upgrade that she would feel so guilty/loving about that she would authorize multiple upgrades for you on your MINI without giving it a 2nd thought. Think hard before you say no.:lol::drool Jason
That lady has her hubby out gunned on horsepower as it is. I'm sure he doesn't want her to have even more.
Not a huge fan of plug and play, but that does have the nice advantage of coming with a warranty. Is anyone dyno tuning those bad boys? I'd go that route if it's both doable and undetectable.
Thanks Sam! Have a friend currently in the middle of negotiations on a new ST and the dealer that he is at hasn't heard of this.
:cornut: We have too many Jason's around here. Okay I'll assume it's me. I did configure a 2014 JCW Clubman R55 at the dealership today, $38K. I'll have to think about it especially with the MA Peanut Gallery screaming. " no you idiot, get an R53 and rebuild it!":drool Jason
